As Norvergence quotes the stats released by the Met Office, the year 2020 will be 1.11C warmer as compared to the average temperature. The year to come is most likely to carry the series of becoming the 7th warmest year in a row.

Norvergence suggests that this increase in the temperature will have a significant impact on the sea surface temperatures. Also, global warming being a major contributing factor. El Nino is not expected to re-occur in the coming year. According to researchers, it has been forecasted that the average global temperature in 2020 will fall in the range of 0.99C-1.23C.

Norvergence concluded that the major contributing factors behind this temperature rise will be the emission of carbon dioxide and various other warming gases.
